I'll stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
